German Chocolate Cake frosting
- 1 egg white
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup coconut flakes (sweetened or unsweetend)
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 1 cup sugar (white or brown)
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Brownies
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cups vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp water
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2/3 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup sugar (white or brown)
- 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp salt
German Chocolate Cake frosting
Separate the egg white from egg yolk. Using a whisk slightly whip up the egg white until fluffy.
Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat.
Add the egg white, 1 cup sugar, 1 can evaporated milk and whisk over medium heat until the mixture starts to thickens.
Turn off the heat and fold in the chopped walnuts and coconut flakes. Set the mixture aside.
Brownies
Set oven to 325º.
In a bowl, mix the cocoa powder, flour, salt, sugar. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, mix 2 eggs, oil and vanilla until well combined.
Stir the dry ingredients into wet ingredients and mix.
Stir in the German Chocolate cake frosting.
Pour in the batter into an 8” x 8” pan.
Pop into the oven’s middle rack for 40-45 minutes.
